He has founded several successful start ups in Germany, the US and the Caribbean, is director and advisor for various charitable foundations and is an ordained pastor and chaplain.

Prior to his commitment to Duke Engines John held senior commercial project management, sales and marketing positions in leading construction development companies on large scale CBD property developments. He successfully completed projects and achieved record lease and sale contracts. Following this John established an independent commercial property and marketing consultancy specialising in redeveloping and redefining commercial and retail properties, franchise sales and business development and sales.

Earlier in his career he held the role of national sales and marketing manager for a country wide residential construction company.

Many years experience in progressing complex projects and his expertise in bringing together the required specialist skills, led him to fulfill his personal passion for innovation and develop a means of linking innovation and commerce culminating in his involvement and directorships in innovation ventures.

John is a keen follower and previous participant in a range of sports, likes useful innovation, enjoys reading, art and architecture and his rural lifestyle property.

He then learnt how to use CAD and moved into the design side of the business.

A qualified commercial pilot, Ben has been flying planes since the age of 18. He was a founder of an organisation that maintains and fly’s NZ’s only PBY-5A Catalina twin engine flying boat.

When he has some spare time, Ben is usually found near some type of machinery; restoring vintage farm equipment, or flying or working on planes

From an early age, Mike was involved with engines and cars. An early project, age 14, was a home built 4x4 grass track car with two independent Mini engines, which taught him valuable lessons on why this is not commonly done! It was voted best "show and tell" before chewing up the school playing field in a demo run.

At age 16 he left school to work in the family garage business.

Mike subsequently attended the University of London and completed a B.Eng and then a PhD in Mechanical Engineering - sponsored by Jaguar cars.

Upon graduation Mike was employed as a senior development engineer for Lotus Cars and then moved to Cosworth Technology (now Mahle Powertrain), to become Chief Research & Development Engineer. He has now worked as an independent consultant for over 10 years and been involved in the development of many road, race and marine engines.

In 2007, Mike and his family moved to a coastal township in New Zealand where he likes to watch his kids play sport, and tries to catch fish.

After completing a Bachelor of Technology and a stint in forestry, she spent 7 years as a Product Design Engineer for a leading appliance manufacturer. Following this, Kyla has been Category Manager for an agricultural equipment manufacturer.

Other interests include camping, spending time with her family, reading and getting her hands dirty in the garden.

Andy has had various roles during his 39 years in the motor trade. Included in these are Business Development & Product Manager for Race Car Parts; International Sourcing Specialist for two leading automotive parts importers; and of course numerous engine reconditioning jobs for customers in N.Z and abroad.

Andy enjoys rebuilding engines so much he considers it to be one of his hobbies, along with go-cart racing, hotrods and taking it easy at the beach.

Nick is a CAD pioneer, having worked with various CAD packages over 28 years. He has been responsible for CAD training hundred's of engineers, including several in the Duke team. Nick has been self employed as a 3D CAD designer for 11 years.

Cycling, motor biking and windsurfing keep Nick busy when he is not sitting in front of a computer.
